A short entry, summer 08 Been a while since the last entry into the diary. We have had a great long summer playing a hand full of gigs in Germany, Czech Republic , Hungary, Italy and even a show in the vineyards of St Hillaire, France under a full moon. Like all our tours in the past, this one was no different in many ways. Lots of familiar loving faces, lots of long ending Parties, talk stories and most of all lots of dancing people! But there were some new experiences too though. We got to play the Giostra Di Simone Festival in Montisi, Toscany and No this is not Readings or Coachella or the Szeget, No this is a small little village festival in Toscany that takes place every August in Montisi. Christopher and I spend our childhood Summers there and were part of the festival for many years. It is a typical renaissance festival you find in Toscany, like the Palio of Siena just smaller. For a week the place is one big party and lots of different activities taken place but mostly drinking good Italian Vino and eating primo piato , secondo ……! We all sort of took on the pounds but that is another story. Anyway I don’t exactly know where I am going with all this but I guess I am sort of looking back myself to this wonderful summer shared with so many of our dear friends and family alike and new faces as well as old…. or hot as well as cold or a little bit of ho….or cool..ahhhhhh said the dragon…ups that was Daidai now in my head, back in 1971, Tesin, Switzerland. Anyway keep looking us up for we are certain to keep the show boat on the road and hopefully at a venue near you. -Benjii |
