ASPIRATIONS

"The Durgas are passionately committed to influencing the ways of the world through music."

Every year The Durgas set up a series of non-profit shows as part of their ongoing effort to promote cross-cultural understanding through music. They are sharing their music with people who are struggling in the face of adversity, with the hopes that playing together can make all our voices stronger.

"We The Durgas strongly believe in the healing forces of music, especially when played live! During our concerts, we strive to create an atmosphere where people can come together, forget their troubles and differences, and celebrate life with us. Through our music we attempt to address such universal values as love, joy and understanding as well as music's powerful magic to help transform and enhance our lives. Music as a catalyst for change!

With our international upbringing as children, and our many travels as musicians, the band has had the opportunity to perform to a wide range of audiences throughout the continents. Having been raised in Africa, Asia and Europe, has infused us with a variety of influences in our musical style, and broadened our perspective as a band. Our approach has been to get ourselves out to as many venues and festivals as possible, including being involved with international forums that are concerned with tackling pressing global issues.

Our hope is to become more involved and committed to voluntary and beneficial activities and programs. We believe our live concerts will give them more attention, further promotion and increase, very likely, donor contributions and funding."
